Your Permit Wasn’t Approved. Now What?
Getting correction comments from a building department can be frustrating—especially when you're not sure what needs to change or who can fix it. R7 Designs reviews your existing drawings and permit correction comments, identifies the requested revisions, and prepares updated drawings for resubmittal.

Need More Than Just Drawing Revisions?
We can communicate directly with your building department. Permit corrections can sometimes require clarification—not just changes to the drawings. When needed, R7 Designs can communicate directly with the county or city reviewing your project to help clarify correction comments, determine what revisions are being requested, and coordinate the drawing updates needed for resubmittal.
We Can Help With:
Reviewing Correction Notices • Communicating With the Building Department • Clarifying Plan-Review Comments • Determining Required Drawing Revisions • Updating Permit Drawings • Preparing Resubmittal Documents
You don't have to figure out the correction notice on your own. Send us the correction notice and your existing drawings, and we can communicate directly with the county or city, clarify what they're asking for, and determine the drawing revisions needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
A few things clients often ask before getting started.
Can you revise drawings that R7 Designs did not create?
Yes. We can often work from existing PDFs, CAD files, sketches, or plans created by another designer or contractor. We’ll review the drawings and correction comments first to determine what revisions are needed.
Can R7 Designs communicate directly with my county or city?
Yes. When needed, we can communicate directly with the reviewing building department to help clarify plan-review comments and determine what drawing revisions are being requested.
Can you work from a PDF?
Yes. PDF drawings are fine for us to review. If revisions are needed, we’ll determine whether the PDF provides enough information to make the required changes or whether additional information will be needed.
Can you help if my permit was rejected?
Yes. Send us your existing drawings and the rejection or correction notice. We’ll review the comments and let you know what R7 Designs can help with.
Do you guarantee permit approval?
No. Final approval is determined by the applicable building department and other reviewing authorities. Our job is to address the requested drawing revisions and help you prepare a clearer, more complete resubmittal.
Do you provide architectural or engineering stamps?
R7 Designs provides drafting and design services. When a project requires a professional architectural or engineering stamp, we can coordinate with the appropriately licensed professional as needed.
How quickly can you revise my drawings?
Turnaround depends on the scope of the corrections and the information provided. Once we review your plans and correction notice, we'll let you know the expected turnaround.
Still have questions? Tell us about your project and we'll help you determine what you need.
