• Cleared Ground or Gravel: The site should be cleared of any debris, vegetation, or obstacles. A gravel bed can also be a good alternative to provide drainage and a solid base.

• Concrete Pad (Optional): While not required, a concrete pad offers the best foundation for your container home. It provides a stable and durable surface that can support the weight of the home and offer the best longevity.

Utility Hookups

• On-Grid Setup: If you plan to connect your container home to the grid, you will need to arrange for electric and water hookups. It’s important to have these utilities installed and ready before delivery. Please note that R7 Designs does not handle these installations, so you will need to coordinate with local utility providers or contractors.

• Off-Grid Options: For a self-sustaining lifestyle, we offer several off-grid options:

  • Solar Power: Equip your home with solar panels to generate your own electricity.

  • Composting Toilets: These environmentally friendly toilets do not require a septic system or sewer connection.

  • Water Catchment Systems: Collect and store rainwater to supply your home’s water needs.
